Public Administration Department
The Department of Public Administration at the College of Administration and Economics, University of Tikrit, was established in the academic year 2016–2017 as a daytime program only, in accordance with University Order No. 7/39/14415 dated 05/10/2016, in reference to the letter from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research / Department of Studies, Planning, and Follow-up / Planning Studies No. T.M. 3/3/4214 dated 20/09/2016. Evening studies were later introduced in the department starting from the academic year 2018–2019. The department accepts students from secondary education graduates in the literary, scientific, and commercial branches, as well as top graduates from administrative branches in technical education, and awards a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration.
The Department of Public Administration provides educational services for both daytime and evening studies. It has a complete faculty within its general specialization, and also collaborates with faculty members from related departments such as Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, and Financial and Banking Sciences. The department offers 32 courses across the four academic years.
Public Administration is a highly important field at both local and global university levels. The department focuses on teaching public administration sciences for the public sector (government) and state institutions at both central and local administrative levels. The core objective of this specialization is to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of state agencies and departments, whether those aimed at achieving public welfare, such as ministries and general directorates, or governmental enterprises (public service and production companies). Graduates of the Department of Public Administration are considered key contributors to governmental organizations and institutions serving the community domestically and internationally, thereby fulfilling the mission of the university and the college by equipping students with scientific expertise in the field of public administration.

The department aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to understand administrative challenges and solutions, while developing their leadership and analytical capabilities.
