Functions of the Media and Government Communication Division

The Media and Government Communication Division at the College of Administration and Economics – Tikrit University plays a pivotal role in enhancing communication between the College and the community, in addition to conveying a positive image of the academic and research activities conducted within the College. The main functions of the Division can be summarized as follows:

  1. Engagement with Media Outlets:
    • Preparing and publishing press releases on the College’s activities such as conferences, symposia, training workshops, and academic events.
    • Organizing press conferences and media briefings when necessary.
  2. Management of Social Media and the College Website:
    • Supervising the updating and development of content on the College’s social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to strengthen public engagement.
    • Updating the College’s official website with news and events on a regular basis, while providing essential information to students and the community.
  3. Documentation of Activities and Events:
    • Photographing and recording all academic, scientific, and student events organized by the College.
    • Archiving photos and videos of these events as a historical reference for the College and for use in future media campaigns.
  4. Preparation of Media Reports:
    • Compiling monthly or annual media reports that document the College’s activities and achievements, to be submitted to the University administration and relevant entities, or published on social media.
    • Highlighting the impact of these activities on the local community and their role in promoting community development.
  5. Coordination with Government Agencies:
    • Acting as a liaison between the College and governmental institutions to strengthen mutual cooperation, and organizing official visits of government representatives to the College.
    • Providing relevant information to government entities and facilitating communication in support of the College’s mission and the educational process.
  6. Promotion of Academic and Research Programs:
    • Launching media campaigns to raise awareness of the academic programs offered by the College and their role in preparing graduates for the labor market.
    • Promoting scientific conferences and symposia organized by the College, and encouraging participation both within and beyond the University.
  7. Preparation and Design of Publications:
    • Producing and designing informational brochures and introductory booklets about the College and its departments, to be distributed to new students and partner institutions.
  8. Organization of Media Events and Activities:
    • Contributing to the organization of special events at the College, such as graduation ceremonies and student activities.
    • Arranging dialogue sessions and media workshops that help students develop their skills in the field of media.
  9. Monitoring Media Coverage of the College:
    • Tracking news coverage and media publications related to the College or issues concerning it.
    • Responding to media inquiries and issuing official statements on behalf of the College when necessary.
  10. Strengthening the Institutional Identity of the College:
  • Working to build a positive image of the College and its role in community service by highlighting its academic and scientific accomplishments.
  • Supporting the institutional identity of the College and promoting it as a leading educational institution in the fields of administration and economics.

All these tasks are designed to strengthen both internal and external communication, enabling the College to effectively deliver its academic and social mission to the widest possible audience. The Media and Government Communication Division makes a significant contribution to the achievement of the College’s strategic objectives by supporting effective communication pathways with the community and various institutions.
