Library Division
In an effort to enhance the cultural and academic environment within the college, the Library of the College of Administration and Economics was established in 2001 as a means to support the development of scientific culture and encourage academic research among students and researchers.
The library’s vision and objectives include the following key goals:
- Promoting Scientific Culture: Enhancing the scientific knowledge of students and researchers by providing modern and diverse resources.
- Providing a Conducive Environment for Reading and Research: Creating an environment that encourages critical thinking and innovation.
- Strengthening Communication with Book Fairs and Publishers: Updating the library’s collection with new and varied resources.
- Meeting the Needs of Students: Ensuring access to books and other relevant materials required for academic studies.
- Organizing the Book Collection: Implementing systems that facilitate easy access to resources.
- Ensuring a Quiet and Focused Reading Space: Establishing rules and regulations to maintain a conducive reading environment.
- Enhancing Academic Exchange: Promoting collaboration with universities and academic institutions, both locally and internationally, to acquire new and diverse resources.
Library Division – College of Administration and Economics
The Library Division at the College of Administration and Economics plays a fundamental role in supporting the educational and research process by providing scientific resources and information to students and faculty members. Its responsibilities include:
- Managing the Library Collection
- Organizing and updating the collection of books, references, journals, and theses in the library.
- Classifying and cataloging books to facilitate search and borrowing.
- Providing Lending Services
- Managing the borrowing and returning of books for students, faculty, and researchers.
- Recording and renewing borrowed items while ensuring timely returns.
- Providing Digital Information Resources
- Ensuring access to academic databases and electronic journals for students and faculty members.
- Providing guidance on how to use digital databases effectively for research purposes.
- Research Support and Library Guidance
- Assisting students and researchers in locating the resources and references they need.
- Organizing workshops on how to use the library and navigate electronic resources.
- Library Development and Updates
- Keeping up with the latest editions of books and journals in administration and economics, and acquiring necessary materials.
- Periodically reviewing the library collection to remove outdated or irrelevant books.
- Providing a Conducive Study and Research Environment
- Offering dedicated spaces for reading and studying within the library.
- Ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment that supports student concentration.
- Organizing Cultural and Academic Events
- Conducting seminars and workshops to promote knowledge, reading, and scientific research.
- Collaborating with academic departments to organize book fairs and launch cultural initiatives.
- Documentation and Archiving
- Archiving students’ theses and dissertations.
- Preserving important documents and academic records in an organized and accessible manner.
Through these responsibilities, the Library Division aims to enhance academic knowledge and provide the necessary resources to support education and research at the College of Administration and Economics.
